The town of Obernai has a historic center in which you can observe beautiful half-timbered houses (Alsatian half-timbered house with wooden frame dating from the Middle Ages to the 17th century), superb Renaissance buildings and pretty little Classes.
Obernai's main square is the Place du Marché with traditional shops as well as Alsatian restaurants, with local Alsatian pastry products, the Kougelhopf (Brioche Alsacienne), the Maennele (Alsatian biscuit) , the bredele (small Alsatian oven)
The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is one of the largest Catholic churches in Alsace which sits enthroned in the town center of Obernai.
Admire the surprising panoramic view from the Mont National on the heights of the city where the National Memorial of Obernai is located, a monument erected in memory of the Alsatian soldiers forcibly incorporated into the German army during the Second World War.
